Extras | Add-ons |
Add-ons are packages that add features and functions not normally included with Kodi. Add-ons are developed by people on Team Kodi and third-parties. Kodi has a growing list of community driven add-ons for online content like YouTube, Hulu, Grooveshark, Pandora Radio, as well as skins (themes) and more available from a common official repository, while still enabling third-party developers to also host their own unofficial repositories for add-ons that any user can choose to add themselves if they like.
General topics
Add-on manager The Add-on manager's purpose is to manage the various add-ons to the Kodi application. It can be browsed like any other section and the various installed/uninstalled, enabled/disabled add-ons. In the Add-on manager you can also change the settings for auto update, notifications and search for installed add-ons by bringing up the slide in submenu (press left ← to show/hide). The Add-on manager is not where you go to run add-ons, but only to install and configure them. |
Category:All add-ons A categorized listing of all add-ons in the Kodi.tv repos, along with a few others. Many pages contain documentation for both users and developers, as well as links to forum help, websites, and more. | ||
Add-on development This area contains information, tutorials, and links for creating add-ons (and plug-ins) for Kodi. |
Skins Use skins to change the look and feel of your Kodi installation.

Add-on settings
Various add-ons also have settings that can be accessed by going to the Add-on manager: Settings -> Add-ons -> Enabled add-ons -> the add-on category -> the add-on title -> Configure
You can also access add-on settings for some add-ons by bringing up the contextual menu press guide on remote or C or ⊞ Win on a keyboard while using that add-on.
How-tos
As per Kodi v13 "Gotham", subtitles support is now built into Kodi. And instead of downloading a full subtitle download add-on, you now install one (or more) specific subtitle services.
