Overview

DVBViewer Recording Service frontend supports streaming of Live TV, Timers, Recordings, and EPG. For parsing the XML output from the RS webinterface it uses the xmlParser library developed by Frank Vanden Berghen (http://www.applied-mathematics.net/tools/xmlParser.html).

Installing DVBViewer PVR backend software

Download DVBViewer from http://www.dvbviewer.com

Connecting XBMC to DVBViewer Recording Service

1. Go to Settings -> Add-ons -> Enabled add-ons -> PVR Clients and select the DVBViewer Client add-on
2. Select "Configure"

DVBViewer by A.I.S., Ltd. is not the same software as DVBLink by DVBLogic

Note! For DVBLink please see the "PVR/Backend/DVBLink" article instead.

There have to be some confusion between "DVBViewer" and "DVBLink" PVR clients for XBMC, and some people seem to think that they are the same PVR backend software, but DVBViewer software is by A.I.S., Ltd. which is not the same software as DVBLink by DVBLogic. Maybe the confusion is due to to them both starting their names with "DVB", or maybe it's because use can use, or maybe is because you can use DVBLogic TV tuner hardware with DVBViewer software.

In any case, please just remember that DVBViewer PVR client for XBMC is separate addon as seen here https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr-addons/tree/master/addons/pvr.dvblink discussed in forum thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140645
