This page describes how to use the Kodi internal File manager for locating and copying your log file. This is handy for situations like if the debug uploader add-on doesn't work, or if you need to manually access the logs but are using a non-desktop OS that doesn't have easy access to those files.

Steps

• Step 1: In XBMC's home screen, go to the File manager submenu of the Settings menu.

• Step 7: On Panel A: Open the logpath source. On Panel B: Open the source you added, either USB drive or other media source location. You can further navigate in Panel B to the exact folder you wish to copy the log file to.

• Step 8: Scroll down until you see xbmc.log (currently running log) or xbmc.old.log (log from the last time {{subst:Name}} was open). Bring up the contextual menu (C on a keyboard or Menu on most remotes), and then select Copy.

• Step 9: Select Yes to confirm the copy. Remember, whatever is selected in Panel A is being copied to the location open in Panel B.
