PVR/Contents Editor note: Intro blah blah blah blah

Editor note: Any important notes in context to XBMC, like limitations, pros, cons, whatever. Nothing too in depth, but things that people might want to be aware of before they choose this backend.

Preinstalled options

The following XBMC/OS distributions come with VDR already installed, or easily installed as an option. These are great one-stop solutions that can greatly simplify the installation of the backend, as well as various other benefits unique to those distros. Editor note: Not sure if there are any pre-installed options for VDR? I think OpenELEC plans to have an option of VDR backend for their Raspberry Pi version
