XBMC Passthrough Setting | Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver???? | DTS capable receiver | Multichannel LPCM capable receiver | TrueHD capable receiver | DTS-HD capable receiver |
Have to check if DTS-HD is intended to describe DTS-HD MA in AE simply because of [Linux] DTS-HD Master Audio forum thread it reports disabling DTS-HD passthough enables DTS-HD MA, I cant test this becase I dont have HD audio receiver. --uNiversal 12:12, 1 February 2013 (EST)
--jjd-uk 11:46, 4 February 2013 (GMT): note to uNiversal - AE DTS-HD setting covers both DTS-HD & DTS-HD MA.
???? Need to confirm which setting covers Dolby Digital Plus, thinks it's the Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver setting but not 100% perhaps need Damian to confirm.
Audio Settings Guide (WIP)
Depending on how your equipment is connected together you'll need to adjust the audio setting. The following is meant to act as a guide to get you started, thus you may want to adjust thing to suit your own particular set of equipment.

* Where AVR has HDMI inputs but can't decode HD audio
** WASAPI offers best quality if connected to an AVR or DAC but may not always work, and Directsound offers better compatibility and should work in just about all equipment configurations. The only time WASAPI must be used is when trying to passthrough HD audio.
