SPMC is an unofficial fork of XBMC for Android created by Team XBMC developer Koying. While technically unofficial, it contains various "experimental" fixes and settings that can sometimes help users when the normal XBMC for Android doesn't work on their specific hardware.

SPMC can also be downloaded from Google Play and the Amazon Fire App Store.

Should I use XBMC or SPMC?

Users should generally try the official XBMC.org builds from http://xbmc.org/downloads/ first, and if they still have issues they could then try SPMC. Or, some specific hardware configurations or situations might have their own tweaks that SPMC will help with, like some speedup tweaks for Rockchips hardware.

Just remember that SPMC is not a normal build and is not supported by Team XBMC, so don't report SPMC bugs or issues to XBMC's bugtracker, etc.

Editor note: Anyone reading this: Feel free to expand on the differences between XBMC and SPMC. Even if it's unofficial, I see no reason why we can't mention it here on the wiki, and you can be as detailed or as brief as you want here.
