How can you help
This is a rough draft of things users can help with on the XBMC Wiki.
- Spam/vandalism monitoring. Check Special:RecentChances daily for obvious spam or vandalism.
- Go through all pages in Category:Outdated and rate them (template will be updated to be ratable) as for how outdated they are (as in, can't be updated, applies to a past version, or maybe a 1-5 scale)
- Update the Quick Start Guide.
- Update the manual- Major re-organization here needed. There will basically be "two" manuals (though pages can be included in both): A basic user's manual, and an advanced user/developer manual. In the advanced/developer manual will be the sub-manual for Skins, Add-ons, etc.
- Figure out better page navigation. Right now we use the XBMC TOC templates for most of the navigation, along with wiki links and categories. We need some kind of mini/sub-category navigation template for small groupings of pages.
- Templates to make data entry easier: For example {{Remote}}, which will be expanded with many more parameters. There could also be a template to help with step-by-step instructions, with options for screen shots.
- Categorization! Need to plan out a proper category tree
- Editing 101 help links- basic help info for editing a wiki, as well as listing any special features such as sectional transclusion.
- Adding pages for each add-on, skin, repo, etc.
- Guidance on user created content.
