==What is Xlink?==
Xlink is a method of online gaming whereby system link enabled games can be "tricked" into being played across the internet instead of the usual LAN.
For this to work it requires that you go to the [http://www.teamxlink.com/ Xlink Homepage], register with your unique Xlink Username and Password, and download the Kai PC based software which is required for you to connect online. A list of compatible games should also be on the site.

Xlink can be accessed from the Xlink button in my programs. 
Once the Kai software is running (and only if the software on your pc is running), you can now access the Xlink arenas. 

There are four different view modes in the Xlink Section:
* '''Friends''' - Where you can view which of your Xlink "buddies" are online at the moment
* '''Games''' - Which will tell you what games are currently being hosted
* '''Arenas''' - Where you can join or host private arenas
* '''Chat''' - Where you can chat with other users of your arena

If the game supports the use of the Live Headset in system link mode then you can use the Live headset in Xlink

Kai is a program that you run on your PC or Macintosh that allows you to play system-link / LAN-enabled games for your XBox, "GameCube" and "PlayStation 2". 
The software is referred to as what is known as a 'tunnelling' application. There are various other single-console tunnelling applications available, but XLink remains the only one to support all 3 major consoles... plus Sony PSP and in the future, Nintendo DS.

==How to setup Kai==

Then enter your Xlink Gamertag and Password into the XBMC settings menu under 'My Programs'.

You need the Kai program installed on your PC (Mac, Linux, and Windows Binaries are available). Just run the Kai Config and select profile '''Engine only (for dashboards)'''. Fill in your username and password and hit OK. Click on "Start Kai".

; Friends
: This tab lists all your available 'friends'. Think of this like a contact list in your favorite messenger program. From here you can see what arena your friends are in and join them quickly. Using the Xbox Live headset you can also voice chat with them over the internet. Simply request a chat session with them and they will get a msn-alike pop-up showing that you requested a chat. To add people to your Friends list simply find them in arena view and highlight their name, move to the left side of the screen and select 'Add'.

; Games
: This lists all the available games that have been detected on your Xbox. Follow the on screen labels to play the game of your choice. When you want to start the game select 'Play' from the left menu. To host your own game select 'Host' on the left.

; Arenas
: This lists all available arenas. It does not limit which games have been detected on your Xbox or not. To play a game from here simply enter the arena (or sub-arena for a specific game) then start the game by selecting 'Play' from the left menu. Your previously selected Arena should now appear in the game's 'system link' settings. 
:Alternatively you may be able to start the game in XBMC by exiting the Xlink-Kai section with the 'back' button on your gamepad and start the game manually.

; Chat
: In the Chat tab you are able to chat with the people in your current arena. Both the virtual On Screen Keyboard and also a USB Keyboard attached to your Xbox work here.
