Kodi users are a demanding bunch when it comes to media players with Kodi & having as-close-to-perfect video playback capabilities as possible. All videos should play smoothly and w/o distracting artifacts such as stutters, frame skips, improper framerates, macroblocking, and audio drop-outs.

Below is a collection of a/v clips for testing, pushing media player capabilities. Not all types, but the most widely used or critical types for home theater enthusiasts. Fair use is claimed on all non-copyleft clips, as their the purpose is only for testing, technical evaluation, and documentation.
XML Tags
;set
* Identifies the set that the feeds belong to. Using multiple sets allows you to display multiple feeds onscreen simultaneously.
;id
* Id of the set. This attribute is used in the skin to reference which content should be displayed in the RSS feed Control
;rtl
* if rtl="true" is set, then Kodi displays the text right to left rather than left to right. Useful for Hebrew and Arabic.
;feed
* Identifies the individual RSS feeds within a set. In the example pictured above, set 1 would show one feed, while set 2 would only several different feeds, one after the other,
;updateinterval
* The amount of time (in mins) allowed to lapse between updating the feeds

File locations
* On Windows, appstore version : "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\XBMCFoundation.Kodi_4n2hpmxwrvr6p\LocalCache\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\RssFeeds.xml"
Don't use the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps path as you may encounter access denied problems for viewing and editing the xml file.
* On Windows, non appstore version : "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\RssFeeds.xml".

Other Questions
;Q. What is RSS \ what is a RSS feed
:A. RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the “recent changes” page of a wiki, a changelog of CVS checkins, even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.
See the full article on xml.com

;Q. Is RSS 2.0 supported?
:A. RSS 2.0 is supported
;Q. Can you change the scroll speed
:A. You cannot modify it directly in the RssFeeds.xml file, however you can do this in the skin itself with the <scrollspeed> attribute. See RSS feed Control for details.
;Q. Can you have more than one feed (in the same place)
:A. Yes, just add another feed in the same set.
;Q. Can you make the RSS feed update faster
:A. Yes, change the value for updateinterval (minutes)
;Q. Are other formats supported.
:A. No only .xml is currently supported
;Q. I can't play this feed ....
:A. There seems to be a problem with feeds with no extension (no “.xml” on the end) make sure you check this.
;Q. The feeds I added to RssFeeds.xml don't show up in Kodi
:A. If the skin you're using does not display multiple sets, put every feed in set id="1"

;Q. I don't have a RSS feed in Kodi
:A. Can you access IMDb? Yes, then home.xml is configured incorrectly. If not, then your network settings are wrong. Make sure you set the <defaultgateway>-</defaultgateway>correctly if you go through a router.

RSS ticker
The RssFeeds.xml file within the userdata folder contains the RSS feeds which are displayed by Kodi.

Feeds are contained within sets and to have multiple feeds you can just add the feed to the relevent set.

You can also have multiple sets, but note that most skins use by default only the first set. So, if you want to display the other sets as well, you will need to edit the skin XML. See details in the RSS feed Control page for more information on adding these feeds to a skin.

This is an example of a feed set:

<xml>
<set id="1" rtl="false">

http://feeds.feedburner.com/Tacos

</set>

Note for Imon remotes users
- Some Imon remotes, such as the Pad, and perhaps other remotes, have numeric buttons that do not send keys like “one”, “two”, etc. Neither they do output key-codes from the numeric pad of a keyboard. What they do is send key-codes from the keys Under the function keys (F1, F2, etc), meaning: 1,2,3, etc. The problem on some system is : they send the keyboard’s lowercase (unshifted) characters for the 1,2,3, etc, keys. For example, if you have a French AZERTY keyboard, the remote's numeric keys will be understood by Kodi as "&锑(-è_çà)". As a result, the XML lines above need to be changed.
- Using the Keymap Editor addon, it should be possible to press the remote buttons and have the button's output registered. But in some cases it is not possible or not handy, so it is sometimes better to use some real keyboard key codes. In the following method, we do not count on the remote's IR emitted key codes, but on regular keyboard keystrokes.
- Use the Keymap Editor addon to note which key-code Kodi gets when typing the keys from the second row of the keyboard. Go to Keymap Editor > edit > global > virtual keyboard > and for each number, type the corresponding numeric key on the keyboard (not the numpad).
- Open the gen.xml file, generated by the Keymap Editor addon. Following the instructions above, it should include the XML lines above for the T9 ability. Edit the lines like <zero>Number0</zero> and replace them by the codes you got from the Keymap Editor addon. For example : <key id=”61488″>Number0</key>.
Go to Keymap Editor > edit > global > virtual keyboard > and for each number, typed the corresponding numeric key on the keyboard (not the numpad).
Note: if you use the Keymap Editor addon for Kodi, you need to append these new XML lines above inside the XML file generated by this addon, not in keyboard.xml. In March of 2015, the file generated by Keymap Editor is called "gen.xml".
| Step4 = If Kodi is already running then restart it so that the changes take effect.
This will allow your arrow keys to use the on-screen keyboard even though kodi thinks your remote is a keyboard already.

Note for Imon remotes users
| Some Imon remotes such as the Pad, have numeric buttons that do not send keys like “one”, “two”, etc. Neither they do output key-codes from the numeric pad of a keyboard. What they do is send key-codes from the keys Under the function keys (F1, F2, etc), meaning: 1,2,3, etc. The problem on some system is : they send the keyboard’s lowercase characters for the 1,2,3, etc, keys. For example, they could send the French AZERTY keyboard keys such as "&锑(-è_çà)". As a result, the XML lines above need to be changed.
| Using the Keymap Editor addon, it should be possible to press the remote buttons and have the button's output registered. But in some cases it is not possible or not handy, so it is sometimes better to use some real keyboard key codes.
| Used the Keymap Editor addon to note which key code Kodi gets when typing the keys from the second row of the keyboard. Go to Keymap Editor > edit > global > virtual keyboard > and for each number, typed the corresponding key on the keyboard (not the numpad).
| Open the gen.xml file, generated by the Keymap Editor addon, including with the appended XML lines above. Edit the lines like <zero>Number0</zero> and replace them by the codes you got from the Keymap Editor addon. For example : <key id=”61488″>Number0</key>.
