General


Use slide animations

Changes the animation used when navigating screens. If enabled, the items on the screen will slide in & out. If disabled, item on screen will fade in & out.


Enable auto scrolling for plot & review

When enabled, plots & reviews that do not fit within the defined area will auto scroll on the screen so that the entire plot/review can be read. When disabled, only the first part of the plot or review that fits within the defined area will be shown.


Touch mode

For touch screens. If enabled, this will allow for better control using touch screen devices and will also add additional control buttons. If not using a touch screen this should remain disabled (default).


Show weather info in top bar

When enabled, this will show the weather information on the top on every menu screen. This requires a Weather Service Information provider add-on to be installed.

Show media flags

When enabled, will show media flags where applicable.
Media flags are the icons that dispaly information such as audio\video codec, language, studio, language, etc

Choose rating to display for media items

Ratings are shown on the movie / TV show poster as a blue star containing a number. This setting allows you to select which rating to display.
Available options are: None, My Rating and Rating.


Choose kind of profile indentification

When using profiles, this setting allows you to the profile identification when multiple profiles are used.
Available options are: None, Profile name and Profile avatar.


Main Menu Items


Enable Category Widgets

On the Home screen, hide the top row of Categories which normally consists of Recently added, Genres, Titles, Years, Actors, Directors, Studios, Countries and Tags.

The Recently added, Unwatched and Random poster displays are not affected. To remove any or all of these requires accessing the skin files.

  • On a Windows system these files are located here... C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodi\addons\skin.estuary\playlists
  • Rename or delete the unwanted files.


Menu Items

Show or hide menu items displayed on the Home screen.


Edit Categories

Edit categories for Movies, TV shows & Music.

Allows you to edit existing or create new Nodes to filter and display your library. Items such as Genre, Title, Year, add new Rules, add new Nodes or add new Parent nodes.

Some novice users may find this concept difficult. An alternate method would be using Smart Playlists.

Default select action for...

When selecting from the Home screen, choose what action occurs when selecting an item.
Available actions are: Browse into, Continue watching, Play from beginning, Play next and Queue item


Artwork Settings


Show Media Fanart As Background

When enabled, the fanart for the library title currently highlighted will be displayed in the background. When disabled, only the default background will be displayed.


Choose Background Pattern

A transparent overlay for fanart that introduces slight patterns to the display.


Choose Skin Fanart Pack

Download a new set of background fanart packs. These are not movie related, but a themed collection of pleasing images.
When installed and used, the art from the installed pack will be used as the default background for menu items on the Home screen. This does not override Show media fanart as background.
Requires the Image Resource Select Add-on which will be installed on first use.
Important: After using the Get more.. button and downloading the fanart pack, come back to this setting and select the fanart pack to activate it.


Choose Weather Fanart Pack

Install weather related backgrounds to use with Weather.
Requires the Image Resource Select Add-on which will be installed on first use.
Important: After using the Get more.. button and downloading the fanart pack, come back to this setting and select the fanart pack to activate it.


Select Genre Fanart Pack

Allows you to download a genre fanart packs which are displayed when scrolling through the Genre node.
Requires the Image Resource Select Add-on which will be installed on first use.
Important: After using the Get more.. button and downloading the fanart pack, come back to this setting and select the fanart pack to activate it.


On screen display


Automatically close video OSD

Enable this option to automatically close the OSD during playback. [1] [2]


Video OSD autoclose time (seconds)

If the previous setting has been enabled, choose how many seconds before the OSD automatically closes
